K-On - Shirakawa-dori Kitayama North

Next I visited the areas north of the Shirakawa-dori Kitayama crossroad. The closest train station is Shugakuin Station.

This is inside Yamabana Children's Park. This shot is actually flipped in the show.

Here's the picture like it is in real-life.

The apartment building on the left and this part of the Shirakawa-dori road is shown in several episodes.

Mio and Ritsu in front of the apartment building.

Ritsu continues walking down the road.

Further down the road in the background here is the Shirakawa-dori Kitayama crossroad.

Another shot of Mio in front of the apartment building.

Yamabana Children's Park is located down the road to the left of the crossroad in front of Ritsu here.

Another reverse view.

I also got some more shots at the shopping street near Shugakuin Station.

Ritsu doesn't have much luck in the raffle drawing.

But Mugi manages to win. I've marked a path from Yamabana Children's Park, going past the apartment building, ending up at the shopping street entrance in the background here.

Your Name - Train Crossing

I also checked out a bunch of Your Name locations in Nagano, starting with the train crossing that was supposedly shown in the movie, which is located close to Otabe Station in real life. Image from Your Name - 10m56s This is the angle that seems to match the most compared to what was shown in the movie, but the screenshot is flipped and there's some elements missing. Image from Your Name - 10m56s This is the screenshot as shown in the movie. You can see the similar looking metal utility box in the picture here. Image from Your Name - 31m08s I also took a picture from the opposite side so the metal utility box position matches when the screenshot is flipped. Image from Your Name - 31m08s There's a sign with a 7 on it here, but it's not in the same location as in the movie. Image from Your Name - 31m08s I also took a picture from the road, then the metal utility box position matches, but the road and railway track is switched. K-On - Kitano Tenmangū Revisit

Another place I revisited was the Kitano Tenmangū shrine . The easiest way to get there is to take a bus to Kitano Tenmangū-mae. Image from S2E4 - 06m54s The torii gate at the entrance. Image from S2E4 - 06m55s The same cow statue I saw last time I visited. Image from S2E4 - 06m57s And the tower gate. Image from S2E4 - 07m05s The purification font is in the middle here. Image from S2E4 - 07m06s The sign here is smaller in real life. Image from S2E4 - 07m20s The other cow statue that's shown in the anime... Image from S2E4 - 07m26s That Ritsu and Yui rubs. Image from S2E4 - 07m32s Nodoka is skeptical about what they're doing. Image from S2E4 - 07m36s Sawako spots Ritsu and Yui... Image from S2E4 - 07m37s And yells at them. Image from S2E4 - 07m40s Yui then spots... Image from S2E4 - 07m42s Another sign. Not sure if this is the exact same location as shown in the anime, but it was the closest matching one I could see. Haruhi Suzumiya - Ferry

In addition to checking out the port area of Tokushima I also took the Nankai ferry since it was shown in Haruhi Suzumiya. Image from Remote Island Syndrome Part 1 - 00m48s The ferry runs between Tokushima and Wakayama. Image from Remote Island Syndrome Part 1 - 04m13s Unfortunately the ferry that was shown in the anime was retired in 2007, so the one I took didn't match. Image from Remote Island Syndrome Part 1 - 04m33s There were some similarities though like these green sailcloth covered walkways. Image from Remote Island Syndrome Part 1 - 04m39s The seating areas outside were different. Image from Remote Island Syndrome Part 1 - 05m12s These rows of plastic chairs didn't match either. Image from Remote Island Syndrome Part 1 - 06m15s The insides were slightly more similar. Image from Remote Island Syndrome Part 1 - 06m18s Sitting area with vending machines. Image from Remote Island Syndrome Part 1 - 06m22s Area where you could lie down. Image from Remote Island Syndrome Pa...
