Flying Witch - Cherry Blossom Festival

In episode 4 of Flying Witch we see Makoto, Chinatsu and Kei visiting the Cherry Blossom Festival in Hirosaki Park. I've visited the castle, bench and shrine inside the park before, but not during the cherry blossom season, so I had a look when I visited this time.

Lots of lanterns and cherry blossom trees lining the park.

View of the moat around the castle park.

There was a spot inside the park where there was a heart shape in between the cherry tree branches.

Just like the last time I visited this picture is flipped since it's easier to get a picture from this side of the bridge.

The castle keep is still under renovations.

This is at the Aomori Prefecture Gokoku Shrine grounds inside the park. The stalls look similar to the ones in the show.

Kei shows off the money they got for spending at the festival.

Chinatsu getting grilled dango rice snack from one of the food stalls.

The stall I checked out even had a picture of Chinatsu eating grilled dango from the second manga cover.

I didn't try the grilled dango myself, but I tried other snacks.

Whole fish on a stick.

Meat sticks and yakisoba.

And even apple ice cream.

After eating all the snacks they pass this shooting gallery.

I only got a shot in the opposite direction from the anime here since there were too many people in the other direction.

Image from Episode 4 - 04m43s

This haunted house was here next to the shrine torii gate in real life too.

Image from Episode 4 - 04m59s

Kei doesn't want to check it out.

Image from Episode 4 - 05m07s

But gets dragged along by Makoto and Chinatsu.

Everybody runs screaming out of the exit.

And stops at the other side of the shrine torii gate.

Skeletons here in real life.

I also got a quick shot of the park bench again.

And the moat.

The Eccentric Family - Hell

While visiting Arima Onsen , Yasaburo gets thrown into hell in The Eccentric Family. Some of the places shown in hell are located in Tokyo, so I went and had a look. Sakura Miku - Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival

While in Hirosaki checking out all the Flying Witch locations, I also got a few pictures of the Sakura Miku and Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival collaboration. At Hirosaki Station they had a giant Sakura Miku poster at the location I saw the Flying Witch ad back in 2016. Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival poster and Sakura Miku wall scroll inside the tourism information office at the station. Ad with Sakura Miku and Takamaru-kun, the Hirosaki Castle mascot. Lots of Sakura Miku themed tourist maps of Hirosaki. If you wanted a Flying Witch map you had to ask. Sakura Miku decoration on the train station door. At Hirosaki Apple Park they had this cardboard cutout of Sakura Miku and Takamaru-kun. Long wall scroll inside the Apple Park shop. They had lots of Sakura Miku items for sale here. Including t-shirts. Clear files. Mobile batteries. And pin buttons. They also had lots of apple goods for sale. Including various drinks. And actual apples of course. While waking towards Hirosaki Park I...

Comic1 15

The final thing I checked out this time was Comic1 15. It's an event similar to Comiket , and just like Comiket it took place at Tokyo Big Sight. It's a smaller event, so I got a better place in the queue than at Comiket. Still plenty of people though. The Comic1 catalog was also the ticket, so you just held it up at the entrance to show that you had one. Since it was a smaller event it only used the west halls and none of the east halls. Both west hall 1 and 2 had circles selling doujins and goods. This is inside west hall 2. In west hall 4 they had a separate event called Character1 with corporate booths. In the Character1 area they had this big Nekopara TV anime ad. And some smaller ads for various other anime, figures and other stuff. Cardboard cutouts. Metallizing Art on display. At the Key booth they also had art. One of Kanade Tachibana from Angel Beats. They had a stamp rally at the Key booth for people who bought items too. In a corner of Character1 they had itasha o...
