Flying Witch - Chinatsu and Chito Walk

In episode 5 of Flying Witch we see Chinatsu following Chito through several locations in Hirosaki, so I also visited them. I've also made a separate post with some of the same locations shown when Makoto and Chito walk together.

Image from Episode 5 - 04m12s

They are walking down this road at first. You can see Chinatsu in the background near the blue house.

Closeup of Chinatsu in front of the blue house.

Image from Episode 5 - 04m20s

Reverse view of Chito.

Image from Episode 5 - 04m23s

Chito stares at this building which looks slightly different in real life.

Image from Episode 5 - 04m35s

Chinatsu can't figure out why Chito stared at the building.

Image from Episode 5 - 04m44s

This shrine gate is the same one I've visited before.

Image from Episode 5 - 04m56s

Slightly further down the street is this road mirror. This was the closest I managed to get the mirror image to match.

Image from Episode 5 - 05m01s

The same road mirror is shown in the background here near Chinatsu. You can also see Chito in the foreground on the left.

Image from Episode 5 - 05m05s

Chinatsu hears lots of dog barking and other noises. If you look closely at the picture here you can see the shrine gate in the background.

Image from Episode 5 - 05m09s

Chito, now on the brick fence, continues down the same road as in the screenshot before the previous one.

Image from Episode 5 - 05m13s

Chinatsu runs after Chito and sees the dog that made the noises. I only got a shot of the buildings in the background here since I didn't want to trespass.

Image from Episode 5 - 05m29s

Chinatsu has caught up with Chito again.

Image from Episode 5 - 05m33s

There's no utility pole here in real life and the cherry blossom trees are different.

Image from Episode 5 - 05m37s

This building got similar features, but doesn't match exactly.

Image from Episode 5 - 06m05s

Chinatsu has lost sight of Chito. This is at the forked road near the bus stop.

Image from Episode 5 - 06m11s

The old woman tells Chinatsu that there's something on her head.

Image from Episode 5 - 06m16s

Removes it.

Image from Episode 5 - 06m22s

And gives it to Chinatsu.

Image from Episode 5 - 06m19s

It's a cherry blossom petal.

Image from Episode 5 - 06m32s

Closeup of the old woman.

Image from Episode 5 - 07m38s

Chinatsu continues to look for Chito.

Image from Episode 5 - 07m46s

This place doesn't look much like in the anime.

Image from Episode 5 - 07m48s

Except for here where Chinatsu spots Chito again.

Image from Episode 5 - 08m32s

The apartment buildings here doesn't match either. I've marked a path from the road at the start, going past the place with the dog, and the place with the cherry blossom tree, ending up at this place in the map below.

Image from Episode 5 - 09m21s

This fire lookout tower is back near the bus stop again.

Image from Episode 5 - 09m23s

Chinatsu runs past the fire lookout tower on her way back.

Image from Episode 5 - 09m26s

The net wasn't up for the apple season yet.

Image from Episode 5 - 09m35s

The blue building on the left was under renovations. I've not marked the bus stop here or the shrine on the map below, since you can see the locations of those in the old posts.

Your Name - Train Crossing

I also checked out a bunch of Your Name locations in Nagano, starting with the train crossing that was supposedly shown in the movie, which is located close to Otabe Station in real life. Image from Your Name - 10m56s This is the angle that seems to match the most compared to what was shown in the movie, but the screenshot is flipped and there's some elements missing. Image from Your Name - 10m56s This is the screenshot as shown in the movie. You can see the similar looking metal utility box in the picture here. Image from Your Name - 31m08s I also took a picture from the opposite side so the metal utility box position matches when the screenshot is flipped. Image from Your Name - 31m08s There's a sign with a 7 on it here, but it's not in the same location as in the movie. Image from Your Name - 31m08s I also took a picture from the road, then the metal utility box position matches, but the road and railway track is switched. Flying Witch - Manga Covers

Although I don't normally do manga locations, I did check out some of the locations shown on the Flying Witch covers this time. Flying Witch Cover 1 This is at a shrine named Gankisan Shrine. I've marked this location in the map below. Flying Witch Cover 2 This is at Hirosaki Park on the other side of the moat from the bench shown in the anime. Flying Witch Cover 5 This is at the entrance of the house where Nao lives . Flying Witch Cover 6 And finally, this is down by the river near the nursery school close to the bridge shown in the anime OP. Location map: These locations were visited on 2019/04/24 and 2019/04/25. Girls und Panzer - Tank Club Shop

The Tank Club Shop in episode 2 of Girls und Panzer is based on a real place in Tokyo, so I went to have a look. The closest train station is Ichigaya Station. Image from Episode 2 - 09m12s The building still looks the same. Image from Episode 2 - 09m10s Unfortunately the shop itself, which was called Norimono Club in real life, closed down in 2017. It was run by the publisher Ikaros Publications which still is located here. Image from Episode 2 - 09m18s There's no buildings on the other side of the street in real life.
