The Eccentric Family - Gion

Since I was already near Gion because of the shot from the Bridge Fight, I also took some more The Eccentric Family pictures at various places in Gion.

This is at the same place as the shot leading up to the Bridge Fight, just from a slightly different angle.

Image from S1E8 - 10m42s

This shot in the other direction doesn't seem to match though.

Image from S1E8 - 07m13s

To the west of the previous place is this road.

This patrolman sees Yajiro in train form.

Yajiro continues down Hanamikoji street here.

Image from S1E1 - 01m14s

Hanamikoji street is also shown at the start of the first episode. Lots of tourists here so hard to make out everything.

Slightly different angle with more details.

Image from S2E2 - 03m01s

Various other locations around Gion are also shown in the second season OP. The bridge here leads to a store named Pass the Baton Kyoto Gion.

Image from S2E2 - 03m10s

The building shown here is a café.

Image from S2E2 - 03m38s

This is a wall of the back of Kenninji Temple.

Image from S2E2 - 03m38s

This is at an alley leading away from the wall in the last picture.

Image from S2E2 - 03m39s

This is at Hanamikoji street again, but further south. The buildings here were under renovations.

Image from S2E2 - 04m05s

This street is near Tatsumi Bridge. The inu-yarai bamboo covers on the right are no longer there. I've marked a path through all these places in the map below, except for the place also shown leading up to the Bridge Fight.

Your Name - Train Crossing

I also checked out a bunch of Your Name locations in Nagano, starting with the train crossing that was supposedly shown in the movie, which is located close to Otabe Station in real life. Image from Your Name - 10m56s This is the angle that seems to match the most compared to what was shown in the movie, but the screenshot is flipped and there's some elements missing. Image from Your Name - 10m56s This is the screenshot as shown in the movie. You can see the similar looking metal utility box in the picture here. Image from Your Name - 31m08s I also took a picture from the opposite side so the metal utility box position matches when the screenshot is flipped. Image from Your Name - 31m08s There's a sign with a 7 on it here, but it's not in the same location as in the movie. Image from Your Name - 31m08s I also took a picture from the road, then the metal utility box position matches, but the road and railway track is switched. Flying Witch - Manga Covers

Although I don't normally do manga locations, I did check out some of the locations shown on the Flying Witch covers this time. Flying Witch Cover 1 This is at a shrine named Gankisan Shrine. I've marked this location in the map below. Flying Witch Cover 2 This is at Hirosaki Park on the other side of the moat from the bench shown in the anime. Flying Witch Cover 5 This is at the entrance of the house where Nao lives . Flying Witch Cover 6 And finally, this is down by the river near the nursery school close to the bridge shown in the anime OP. Location map: These locations were visited on 2019/04/24 and 2019/04/25. Girls und Panzer - Tank Club Shop

The Tank Club Shop in episode 2 of Girls und Panzer is based on a real place in Tokyo, so I went to have a look. The closest train station is Ichigaya Station. Image from Episode 2 - 09m12s The building still looks the same. Image from Episode 2 - 09m10s Unfortunately the shop itself, which was called Norimono Club in real life, closed down in 2017. It was run by the publisher Ikaros Publications which still is located here. Image from Episode 2 - 09m18s There's no buildings on the other side of the street in real life.
