KyoAni & Do Shop Revisit

Since I was in the area I also checked out the KyoAni & Do Shop again.

The building is still the same.

But with new banners. This one is for the KyoAni movie year with Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day, Free! -Road to the World- Dream and Violet Evergarden the Movie.

And another banner for the KyoAni Do Fan Days 2019.

Just Tsurune goods on display this time.

A different Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day poster on display.

Info about the opening hours.

KyoAni movie year standee and Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day poster inside as well.

The standee had creator messages on it. Warning: This is an extra large picture to show more details.

They still had the same Violet Evergarden items on display.

I took some closeup pictures of the Violet Evergarden items this time.

Here's one of the shikishi sign board signed by Yui Ishikawa.

And they still had the Free! items on display as well.

I also got another picture of the main Kyoto Animation office.

Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day posters on display here too.

Even at the entrance.

The new Kohata Station building had also been finished so here's a picture of that. The train station details from Air is no longer here unfortunately.

I picked up some flyers for Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day, the KyoAni movie year and KyoAni Do Fan Days 2019 while here and I also bought a Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day movie pamphlet elsewhere on this trip.

Your Name - Train Crossing

I also checked out a bunch of Your Name locations in Nagano, starting with the train crossing that was supposedly shown in the movie, which is located close to Otabe Station in real life. Image from Your Name - 10m56s This is the angle that seems to match the most compared to what was shown in the movie, but the screenshot is flipped and there's some elements missing. Image from Your Name - 10m56s This is the screenshot as shown in the movie. You can see the similar looking metal utility box in the picture here. Image from Your Name - 31m08s I also took a picture from the opposite side so the metal utility box position matches when the screenshot is flipped. Image from Your Name - 31m08s There's a sign with a 7 on it here, but it's not in the same location as in the movie. Image from Your Name - 31m08s I also took a picture from the road, then the metal utility box position matches, but the road and railway track is switched. Flying Witch - Manga Covers

Although I don't normally do manga locations, I did check out some of the locations shown on the Flying Witch covers this time. Flying Witch Cover 1 This is at a shrine named Gankisan Shrine. I've marked this location in the map below. Flying Witch Cover 2 This is at Hirosaki Park on the other side of the moat from the bench shown in the anime. Flying Witch Cover 5 This is at the entrance of the house where Nao lives . Flying Witch Cover 6 And finally, this is down by the river near the nursery school close to the bridge shown in the anime OP. Location map: These locations were visited on 2019/04/24 and 2019/04/25. Girls und Panzer - Tank Club Shop

The Tank Club Shop in episode 2 of Girls und Panzer is based on a real place in Tokyo, so I went to have a look. The closest train station is Ichigaya Station. Image from Episode 2 - 09m12s The building still looks the same. Image from Episode 2 - 09m10s Unfortunately the shop itself, which was called Norimono Club in real life, closed down in 2017. It was run by the publisher Ikaros Publications which still is located here. Image from Episode 2 - 09m18s There's no buildings on the other side of the street in real life.
