The Eccentric Family - Arima Onsen

In the second season of The Eccentric Family we see Yasaburo visiting Arima Onsen.

This road is located between Arima Onsen Station and the main parts of the town. The red bridge in the background is called Nene-bashi.

Yasaburo is looking at...

Kin no Yu.

Image from S2E6 - 05m02s

Kin no Yu is one of the public onsen bath houses in Arima. The insides match what's shown in the anime as well, but no pictures allowed there.

After going to Kin no Yu, Yasaburo goes to the café on the second floor here. In the background on the top right you can see the roof of Zenpuku-ji Temple.

Unfortunately the café was closed when I visited, so I couldn't get pictures inside.

Though the café windows Yasaburo spots...

Benten and other Friday Fellows.

Benten and the others is at the souvenir shop on the right. On the left is the bus terminal where you'll arrive if you take a bus instead of the train to get here.

Yasaburo hiding behind this mailbox. The stairs up to Zenpuku-ji Temple is in the background.

Yasaburo follows Benten and the others to this ice cream shop.

Reverse view. If you look closely at the picture here you can spot a cardboard cutout inside the shop on the left.

It was cardboard cutouts of Rinka and Fuuka Arima, characters from Onsen Musume.

On the table there were Onsen Musume beef curry rice for sale.

Benten buys ice cream from the ice cream shop.

Before everybody heads to their hotel.

Yasaburo still tailing them. This corner of the wall is slightly different than what's shown in the anime.

Image from S2E6 - 09m54s

The stairs here are a bit further away from the corner of the wall in real life.

Before running over to the hotel.

This place is called Point Vacation Arima in real life. I've marked a path from the ice cream shop to this place in the map below.

At the local tourist information office I saw more Onsen Musume items.

Another cardboard cutout of Fuuka Arima.

And a signed Onsen Musume poster.

I also saw this Naruto and Boruto decorated bus here.

Weathering With You - Tabata

Another place shown in Weathering With You is a hill leading up from the south exit of Tabata Station. Image from Trailer 2 - 00m48s Hodaka is walking up the hill. It was difficult to get everything seen in the background in the same picture. Image from Toei Bus Commercial - 00m19s I got another shot from a road running alongside the hill, but then the trees here blocked some of the view. Your Name - Shinkaisansya Shrine

The kagura-den stage shown in Your Name is supposedly based on one located at Shinkaisansya Shrine in real life. The closest train station is Usuda Station, but it's quite far and there's no rental bicycle places nearby, so it might be better to rent a car to get here. Image from Your Name - 14m31s Full view of the stage. Image from Your Name - 14m37s Side of the building. Image from Your Name - 14m48s In real life the back of the stage is seen from this angle instead of the front. Image from Your Name - 15m00s Since the position of the stage isn't the same it's difficult to match this shot. Image from Your Name - 15m03s The insides of the roof is different here. Image from Your Name - 15m10s Back of the stage. Image from Your Name - 15m16s There's another building right in front of the stage in real life. KyoAni & Do Shop Revisit

Since I was in the area I also checked out the KyoAni & Do Shop again. The building is still the same. But with new banners. This one is for the KyoAni movie year with Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day, Free! -Road to the World- Dream and Violet Evergarden the Movie. And another banner for the KyoAni Do Fan Days 2019. Just Tsurune goods on display this time. A different Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day poster on display. Info about the opening hours. KyoAni movie year standee and Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day poster inside as well. The standee had creator messages on it. Warning: This is an extra large picture to show more details. They still had the same Violet Evergarden items on display. I took some closeup pictures of the Violet Evergarden items this time. Here's one of the shikishi sign board signed by Yui Ishikawa. And they still had the Free! items on display as well. I also got another picture of the main Kyoto Animation off...
